PERSONALITY
"my personality tends to change ever six months to a year. but who's yvette? she's a wide-eyed, naive girl from the south who has somehow become the most manipulative woman. she can change a car's tire without batting an eye, she used to play football with her brothers and cousins at family get-togethers. but yvette has been gone for awhile now. she's been replaced by emma, ryan, and ava, among others. i do still know who i, yvette, is. that is truly who i am. i just haven't been able to be me in awhile."
FAMILY LIFE
"my family life? my father was a navy seal, my mother was left to raise six kids on her own. my dad's brother, joshua, was the one who basically raised me. he taught me everything i know now. he was shunned by his own family because he had always been in and out of jail, but he was essentially my father. my real dad hated that. whenever he came back from missions he saw that his only daughter loved his brother more than him. i love my mom, i love my dad, but joshua was always just there for me."

HISTORY
"one thing that you need to know about me is that i was a part of a big family. i'm one of the middle children amongst sons. yes, i was the only girl. my father... was never around. not because he up and left a mother of six, no, it was because my father was in the military. my dad was a navy seal. he was extremely skilled in every aspect of life. i knew he was my father, but... i dunno. it was like i never saw him. he was out saving the world probably from terrorist attacks and shit. i know i should of been proud of him, but i really wasn't. call me selfish, i wanted a dad. we would see him every time he was on leave, obviously, but he was always so different. when he was gone, his brother, joshua, hung around the house. he was considered the screw-up of the family, but my mother always looked over it because raising all those kids was hard on her. joshua lended a helping hand. he said that he knew he has screwed up his life so much that he wanted to do good with his niece and nephews. uncle josh was like my father. he took me fishing, taught me how to ride a bike, helped me with math problems, he was my father. of course, when i was younger i really didn't know that he conned people himself, but when i was twelve, he went to prison for four years. extortion. i was shocked, i was devastated. i had convinced myself that it was wrong, that they convicted the wrong guy.
somehow, i convinced my mom to let me go see him. i think she knew he meant a lot for me, which was why i went to the virginia state prison when my father was away. he hugged me when he saw me, out in the visiting area. he sat me down and told me everything. that he had been in and out of prison his entire life. he said crime was the only way he knew how to live. he didn't want to tell me because he saw how much i looked up to him. there, in the prison, i made a decision that would change my life forever. i told him when he got out, i wanted him to teach me everything. he said no, but i had never been more serious in my life. i left and just continued writing him, i started fighting with my dad when he got home. he'd mention about uncle josh this and that, and i always defended him which always made us fight. my mom understood, but i knew she wasn't going to tell dad that uncle josh basically became my father.
by the time i hit high school, i was a little rough around the edges. ok, i was bitch. i was bitter, i was pissed at my dad, i was getting in trouble. i smoked behind the bleachers at pep assemblies, i drove a motorcycle to school just to say i could. the funny thing was, i was actually really smart. and i still turned in all my homework, did the projects, and got all as in my classes. i was a tricky one guidance counselors could never figure out. i truly was who i was from my uncle. he taught me everything. when i was sixteen, josh was released. my father didn't invite him back into our home, so i always had to go over to his apartment to see him. i wasn't the same person as i had been when i was twelve. he noticed it. if i knew anything, it was that criminals always were scheming, even after just being released from prison. i told him i wanted in. he said of what. and i said of whatever he was planning. i was right. josh and his friends were already planning on blackmailing some guy who was high on the social ladder of virginia's high life. they wanted millions and their way in was apparently me. the man had a son.
this was where my uncle gave me the number one rule which i now live by. role number one is never fall in love. of course, this was for cons. he told me that it was just easier when you kept people at an arm's length away. this made it easier. internally detaching yourself so feelings don't interfere with the job is the only thing that is best. despite my uncle being caught before, he knew his bases. everyone involved got new identities. this was the start of me never being able to really be myself when i was on jobs. this job? i was scarlett york. i charmed the man's son, lured him away from the bubble in which is father tightly kept him in. then my uncle and his friends kidnapped. randsom. no cops were called, and a cool two million was passed over. of course, i'm giving you the short version. end of the story concluded with me disappearing and them scratching their heads when no record of scarlett york were found. i had the taste, and i sure wanted more. i worked a few more jobs with my uncle, and he stowed away my cuts out of my parent's eyes because i was still underage at the time.
i graduated from high school, third in the class, no big deal, i opted out of college to much of my parents disapproval. uncle josh handed me over my cut of the money for my graduation gift, and my parents just knew. i wasn't going to college because my full time job now was being a criminal. a month later, my uncle was under questioning again for something else that happened prior to me being involved. he told me i should just leave. take my money and get out of virginia beach. i listened to his advice and got out of virginia altogether. i ended up in jersey. that's where i started my solo scams. i am a typical con artist. i scam men with my charms, my sad stories. i always have different names, different stories, i use all the tools that uncle josh told me. i've been doing this for five years now, and i've never gotten caught. i'm in and i'm out. i don't fall in love, i don't feel bad of what i do, i am just making a living.
