- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - IT'S JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS feeling like a freight trainFIRST ONE TO COMPLAIN, LEAVES WITH A BLOODSTAIN- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It was a wild night. Ethan was still a young partier at heart and what else did he have to do with his life? He was only twenty-six after all. He didn’t have a boss to answer to in the morning and definitely no lady waiting up at home when he managed to stay out all night. It was the perfect life. Course, his mother and sister sometimes worried that he would never settle down. Who needed to settle down? Marriage was for dependent people. Kane was the vision of independence. He protected others. However, he wasn’t eighteen anymore. That was probably the understatement of the year. Somehow, there must be a line at maybe the age of twenty-five that is crossed where staying up and doing too many shots just isn’t the wisest decision to make. The line means that it is harder to stay up later and the consequences the next day are worse.
EJ ignored the line. He was out til bar time at one of the bars that the college kids liked to frequent. He had been in the mood for a young, pretty girl. But, being around the just turned legal crowd meant a binge like he hadn’t binged in a while. It felt good at the time and the blonde that had his attention all night made it easy to forget how many drinks he had had. Kane was in a blur of weeknight. The girl came home with him and they had a good night as far as he could remember. Her name was something he didn’t remember, but did it matter? He wasn’t going to see her again. If he did, he probably would pull some “you must be thinking of someone else” line.
He rolled over expecting to be waking up in his bed, but this wasn’t his bed. EJ had apparently fallen asleep on the couch down in the breakroom of the shop. It was what would be a break room if he actually had employees. But, for now it was somewhere to hang out and relax with the guys. It had all the amenities and worked well. He found himself his the floor hard and looked up with a glare as his blue eyes scanned trying to gain his bearings. Hands were pressed against the floor as he pushed himself up rather slowly and rolled his head about. What the hell had he done last night? He wasn’t even sure anymore, but he knew it was something that made him feel awful in the morning. How many drinks did he have? Fingers were used to count through the evening, but soon he found himself unable to recall the exact amount. He shook his head and moved to the counter that was in the room where he filled up the coffee maker with water and pressed start. Hands soon moved to smooth out his shirt. He was still in the clothes that he had on last night, or perhaps put them back on.
Soon he moved the fridge and pulled it open. There wasn’t much in there except beer since his real kitchen fridge was in the apartment upstairs. Kane raised a brow and started looking between the coffee that was brewing and the beer in the fridge. Which was truly better in a situation like this? He was having a major confusion. Sometimes it was better to just go ahead and start drinking again, but the aroma of the brew was smelling so great. Course, what he really should have been doing was chugging water to rehydrate. That was for sissies. EJ slammed the fridge shut and leaned against the counter as he waited for the coffee to finish. It was probably best to get some caffeine anyway. He wasn’t even sure what he was supposed to be doing for the day as he glanced at the clock that hung on the wall. It was 10 am. Some would say it was late and some would say it were early, but really it was perfect for him. Kane shrugged to himself and watched the coffee drip into the pot oblivious to the world around him.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -DAMN RIGHT I'M A MANIACyou better watch your back, 'cause I'm fuckin' up your progam- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -TAG: OPEN - come on in WORDS: 696 LYRICS: Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff NOTES: Come make fun of hung over Kane. enemies could cripple and organization. jack knew he and the team had enemies, but no one knew who they were. they, were gods, and police departments up and down the coast had no clues on how to find them. it was the sweet life, if he would admit. sure, they were making money illegally, but jack would of had to of lived ten lifetimes to make as much as he had in the past three years. though his name was blacklisted at all major financial corporations, for some reason jack was slowly getting over it. three years ago, it was terrible. he was basically laughed out of los angeles. the reality of it was that jack was blindsided. he didn't even know what was going on, but of course, he was the perfect scapegoat and that was what he ended up being. when he got back to valkyrie, he was embarrassed. his parents wanted him to move back with them, but that would have only of made jack even more depressed. he wasn't going to live with his parents. his brother was accepted into law school, his sister was finishing high school at the top of her class, and then there was jack. barely was able to make it in the real world. well, now he was back on top of his game. even though, none of his family knew that.
jack ashed his cigarette out the window of his car when he stopped at a red light. he could see the china wok from here. the city had since cleaned up all the rubble that was in the street and the yellow police tape was surrounding the building. the night before, there was a memorial service for the handful of people that died. jack only knew that because he fell asleep during the segment on the news station. he knew he was right there when it happened, but jack didn't see himself as a victim. well, sure, he still had some scratches on his face and a bandage around his arm, but he was walking around like nothing happened to him. no victim here. the light turned green and he pulled the car forward, driving just slow enough past the destroyed restaurant to see how black and charred it was now. nearly the whole front half was gone. jack shook his head and traveled down the street more. he pulled off to the side and parked the car. right in front of kane's repair shop. jack got out and walked towards the shop, flicking his cigarette to the ground and stepped on it as he passed. they decided that they were meeting today, but they saw each other so much, it didn't seem like a set meeting. they always started to congregate at the shop at some point in the day. the front office was empty, which meant he should try the "break room." he swung open the door to see ej waiting for the coffee to finish brewing. "late night i'm assuming?" he asked, knowing that ej probably crashed on the couch. jack pulled one of the chairs out from around the table and sat down. "pour me a cup, when it's done."

- - - the sun was an evil thing really. besides being the center of the universe, to rocky it just liked to fuck with people. as it slid from just within his curtain's it's harsh rays slammed themselves against his eyelids causing him to stir into a very unwelcome awakening. this was ass, man. normally rocky welcomed the sun's rays when it did wake him up, hell, most of the time he was awaken early enough to beat the sunrise so he could go on his early morning run throughout the neighborhood and this part of valkyrie, but today was the one day that he decided i'm gonna treat myself to a nice late morning rise, because fuck it, i deserve. apparently the universe thought otherwise. rocky had a bone to pick with the universe as of now.
his mouth was still slightly ajar against the pillow as his half open eyes just stared at the particles playing in the sun's rays. there was no doubt that he drooled all over his pillow last night, and it might be on his face because that's just how good he slept last night. who would've thought that finding a smoking hot girl has just attempted to rob your house, and was brawling with your best friend for a little while would lead to a night of heavenly slumber? not him, that's for damn sure. but him and will had been down at the bar for a while just to shoot the shit, and though he hadn't gotten drunk or anything, his two beers hit him like a goddamn freight train. so much for a little pick me up.
slowly rolling onto his back with a small groan rocky's eyes diverted to the ceiling with no other movement as if his body was a shell and that though his nervous system was sending out intentions of moving, the muscles weren't picking up on it. instead a consistent groan was coming from his mouth and only stopping once feeling slight movement against his leg. diverting his gaze down to where his legs were tangled within the black comforter set that naya had insisted just 'seemed to click with the furniture'. whatever. instead his eyes focused on the husky with it's head and snout resting against his legs, blue and grey eyes staring back at him just as empty as he currently was. jupiter let out a long sigh as if she were just giving up on the day already. making a face, rocky turned his attention next as a vibration came from his nightstand. reaching for the black iphone with the slight crack in the back of it, he answered a few messages from the night before, and dropped it on the bed as well. eyes reverting back to jupiter, rocky sighed as well, "you're so privileged," as if to start a legitimate conversation with his kanine friend, rocky gave him a jealous look, "eat, sleep, shit wherever, and whenever you want," pulling himself up to get stretch, rocky tangled a yawn in there as well, "lucky bastard,", jupiter seemed to follow suit as she stretched out her legs and opened her mouth wide, letting out a yawn as well.
getting up, and heading to the bathroom, rocky shook his head once more as she laid her head back on the bed and closed her eyes once more. the hot shower was exactly the remedy for rocky's laziness. the steam against his skin and over his hair, and the hot water massaging the stiff muscles of his back was just what he needed. washing up, shampooing his hair and taking care of various other needs for hygiene, rocky emerged from the bathroom, towel tied around his waste, to find jupiter now faced the bathroom door, head popping up when came into view. he smirked ruffling the fur on the top of her head for a moment, and placing a kiss upon it softly before throwing on whatever was clean that he found, and made him look at least a bit well put together.
grabbing the necessary items such as his wallet, keys and such rocky then made his way down the stairs, jupiter following at his heels happily all the way up until he was at the door, "be good girl, no parties," he told her quickly before making his way out into valkyrie. the ride in the '67 wasn't too long since kane's garage was a hop skip and a jump away pretty much, but the morning traffic made him bite his thoughts about the somewhat short distance.
it was an unspoken ideal that the group would usually meet up at kane's. by this point in time they'd become less of just friends and more like a family no matter how corny it might've been to admit it. it was different for rocky to have someone he could rely on. he was used to having people relying on him and him only, no one else that he could to even lighten the load, and to be honest he was sure it'd always be that way. he was glad he wrong to be honest, it never hurt to have someone else to share the burden with. it would only make sense that they started a heist team, when will said it as a joke something about it just clicked in rocky's head. they could pull that shit off. jackson was a master planner down to every single tiny detail, will could make sure to instill some pain into the equation, and rocky was for the most of the time a level-headed person, and he'd like to believe he was pretty logical. with the edition of kane, elise, and chance things were so well developed that in rocky's mind there was no way they could fail. god himself couldn't have put together a better squad.
pulling his other baby into one of the spots around the garage, rocky lugged his build from within the vehicle and locked the doors behind before making his way into the shop and as predicted, a few pieces of the team were shlepping around the shop. while sharpe looked like he had his shit together, kane looked like he'd been from hell, and dragged along floor on the way back, "i'll just leave the 'good' part out of the morning," he spoke taking a look at kane's current...being. taking a seat on one of the chairs at the table, rocky took a breath in slightly, "looks like you had a good enough night for the rest of us." ______________________________
this post right here is dedicated to the heist teamm c: and is an astounding amount of 1102 words. in my own words i'd like to say that went a littttttle overboard. well anyways, all dude-ish in that outfit in the banner, everything in this layout was made by yours truly. currently listening to the office. lyrics in the graphic above are from the song can't tell me nothing by kanye west. that's all for now. ta ta!

Post by chance hennessy sanders on Apr 28, 2012 1:51:35 GMT -6
[/size] THINGS WERE DIFFERENT now. they had been different for a long time, really. but it was…different-different. chance hennessy sander was having trouble explaining it, even to himself. normal had, once upon a time, been heaven. his perfect childhood had been normal - something he used to consider would be forever. and then came a new level of order, another routine. his family had become just as broken as his little sister had always imagined. after several years of this, what used to be normal wasn't. it just…was. chance accepted this. "normal" wasn't going to be perfect. being alone was. awaking alone, living alone, being alone. did he have his parents? of course he did. but sunday dinner was not a common occurrence. he spoke to his father once a week, his mother even less. had you asked him ten years ago if he ever envisioned this as the future of his familial relationships, he would have thrown a beer can at your head. but that was normal. that's what we're talking about, right? he was an adaptive human being. once he accepted the fact that too much had happened - the silent killer they refused to acknowledge - to really be the a-plus family, it was simple. fine. whatever. chance sanders could very easily find light in his current situation. but, it had been such a short amount of time. "normal" was finally just that. and here we are, throwing this odd balance off again.
her glare awoke him before his nightmare about falling off a cliff did. chance sanders, the fellow in question, was halfway off the couch when he regained consciousness. you wake up suddenly if you're about to die in a dream. but when katherine dupuis decides to be lovely and do that before you fall, it's going to happen. he felt her blue eyes, blazed in fire, before he managed to confirm that he was not, indeed, falling into the deep abyss, probably of a volcano or something. he groaned, letting his lithe body fall to the ground before he pretended to notice his sister. managing to untangle himself from the mexican blanket (which he hated) that his mother insisted he keep, chance rubbed his eyes, taking his merry time, before finally looking up. there she was. in the flesh. it had been a long time since he had seen that, katherine standing right in front of him. unimpressed, clearly, but present. dressed in, his opinion, attire that presented far too much of her body, tapping her foot impatiently. "i'm sorry. am i an inconvenience to your watching your morning cartoons?" his voice laced with exhausted frustration, his little sister merely swore at him. this was the different he had been attempting to explain. having this strange new person in his apartment, barricaded from leaving ever again.
what did she expect him to do? merely choosing to roll his eyes, chance watched as katherine replaced him on the couch, moodily channel surfing. didn't she have something to do? because he didn't. throwing the blanket atop her, muttering something about respectability, the bank robber shuffled down the hallway to the bathroom that already smelled like a girl. apparently she was listening to him, making herself comfortable. was that scented soap? breathing a light sigh, chance looked at himself in the mirror. well. he could do worse, sleeping on a couch for less than five hours. he splashed water on his face, downed half a bottle of mouthwash and used what he hoped was gel on his already messy head of hair. see? easy. ready for the day. he himself had no idea what he was going to do. these odd actions from his silent sister were confusing him. she wasn't making any real attempt to escape. frowning lightly, the matter clouding his mind as he found a random pair of shoes, chance merely shrugged to himself. what did it matter? not much, not right now. he just…didn't want to be here. there was only so much confusion his testosterone-fueled brain could handle.
"considering you never bother to change your clothes, wear a jacket that doesn't smell like a sewage plant. i put it on the chair by the door for you. you're welcome." he hadn't been expecting any sort of acknowledgement, let alone conversation. let alone conversation that had once been held before…well whatever the fuck this all was. he paused, looking over at the couch as katherine sat there, eyes never straying from the television now displaying some stupid poker game. she'd noticed him before he even entered the room. what the hell was this? she was even curled up with that nasty-ass blanket. furrowing his eyebrows, chance merely mumbled a confused "thank you" before disappearing from his "different" apartment. he was getting a headache.
and she was right, his jacket didn't smell like a sewage plant. two days under his roof, and he smelled like fabric softener. what the hell. whatever. smiling lightly, his feet carried him toward the only destination they knew: ej kana's auto repair garage. unlike his environment-killing friends, his chosen way of transportation was walking. or biking, if he was lazy. or not going at all. the destination on this fine, if breezy, morning was mindless. where else was he going to go? one stop at the chinese restaurant right en route, as well as an impatiently waited line at dunkin' donuts, he arrived there in respectable time. while his situation was very different than he'd ever expected, chance had little room to complain when it came to his friends. they were his new family. a mixture of stupid, serious and ridiculous, he didn't really want to imagine his life without this mess of lawbreaking misfits. and he would not be fulfilling his role if he did not refer to them in such affectionate terms. smiling again as he heard the scuffle and voices from the back room of the otherwise empty garage, he approached the room to find three of his comrades doing nothing but looking like crap. "i'm such a good friend."
speaking loudly, brightly, to announce his arrival, chance grinned sheepishly at his friends. he placed the box on the table, and flipped it open to reveal the mess of donuts and muffins. so he hadn't been too careful carrying it, given the speared icing and mashed pastries. boo freaking who. hoisting himself onto the table beside the box - who needs chairs? - he swung his legs back and forth as he dug into the bag from the chinese restaurant. "you, my dear friend," he pointed at kane with his chopsticks, "had better of had a girl last night, or there's no excuse for looking like that." chance continued to occupy himself with opening the carton, honouring his odd obsession with the ethnic food, as he smiled blandly. "good morning, mister finely. eat a muffin with your bad coffee, sharpe-y." chewing on the end of his chopsticks, he fell silent for a moment, pondering his thoughts. he'd rather elise here, as well. because women understand one another's minds while men…yeah, that's all. whatever. "my sister's been living with my for two days and i smell like potpourri. what can i do about this?"[/blockquote][/blockquote] ----------------------------------------------------------- TAGGED, them heisters ! OUTFIT: CLICK TAGGED HEISTERS She was almost a bachelor of science. That was a peculiar way to think of things, considering she still had a year left of schooling and then came the pressures of graduate school applications, and potential relocation to said graduate schools. But she did not dwell on those thoughts very much it made one Elise Morgan quite sad. Unlike the majority of people in this town that stuck around after high school, Elise did not dread the fact that she was a townie. It was comforting to be in the place in which you grew up, comforting to be around family and friends that you’ve known for a while. Change was scary; Elise did not like the subtle anxiety of change. But she knew that change was inevitable, people died, babies were born, countries were invaded, wars ended and wars began. But all those events seemed very distant from the girl, a foreign phenomenon as compared to the townie whose only worry revolved around schoolwork and her favourite past time. But things were changing even now, as she hurriedly pulled a nude heel over her foot, ambling around trying to find a suitable dress. Yes, she did choose her shoes before her clothes, new purchase excitement, she supposed. However, as she pulled over a yellow number and manages to yank her hair from under the neckline, she darted from her room into the large kitchen in mere panic. She was making bagels for the shop and some extras for the boys. It was the early morning meeting this time around, so food was a must, especially if they were to discuss a future ‘assignment.’
Her role was simple, getting into and out of the security systems, and being surveillance while ‘assignments’ were taken place. This required her knowledge of computer systems for which she was currently enrolled at Valkyrie University. She knew her way around a computer prior to her acceptance, but Elise thoroughly enjoyed school, and she didn’t plan on being a thief for the rest of her life. That was a temporary career, not something Elise would readily write on her resume. But she enjoyed what she did; she actually had a lot of fun sneaking past firewalls and security systems. It was the rush of power that she thoroughly enjoyed, almost as much as she enjoyed baking. It was because of her love of baking and her love of the heisters in general that she awoke early morning to make bagels. It was just for her or the boys; she would drop some off at her mother’s place of business before rushing out the door. Lingering by the stove for a moment, she stabbed her ears with the diamond studs she received on her sixteenth birthday, a staple really, as she observed the bagels for a moment. Elise quickly yanked the oven open, pushing all the bagels onto a cooling rack as she scoured her small apartment for two boxes for the bagels, one for the boys the other for her mother. Finding acceptable Tupperware, she hastily threw the baked goods, roughly half in each box before she ran to her purse, stuffing in a mess of wires and a cellphone in very poor shape. She pulled the bag to her shoulder, tentatively gathered the boxes as she locked the door. It was still quite an early morning as Elise ran down the stairs, a little hungry and very much excited for the meeting. As she rounded the corner, she slipped past an open door with some regular patrons, hearing the familiar bell above the door shaking violently; she was back inside the Gatsby. With quick salutations to the passing patrons, Elise placed the box of bagels on the counter, waved at her mother and left through the back door, a short cut to Kane’s Auto Shop.
As Elise reached for the grease stained door of the auto shop, all she heard was Chance’s annoying voice, complaining about the smell of his clothes. Seriously, it was like that guy lived to be a nuisance. The gang should have listened to her when she said he was a bad person for the job. Hah, she was kidding, obviously, a little… Elise did love Chance as much as the other boys, it was just he was second youngest, but still older than her and he never let her forget it. Well, none of the boys ever let her forget it. She was the kid in the group. Pushing the unlocked door with her hips, Elise snorted, “You still reek of mediocre acting and sub-par intelligence to me. I don’t think they make a strong enough detergent to wash that away, Sandy.” She nodded, sauntering into the room with her bag slipping from her shoulder and the box nearly running away from her grip. Elise could not help but to laugh as she threw her bag onto a chair before readjusting herself, “Boom. Ten am and I’m on the ball already.” She ripped apart her bagel, still maneuvering her makeshift machine. “Morning Sandy.” She hugged the lad endearingly, “Good softener though,” Elise smirked, petting his head before making her traditional round of hugs through the boys. She wrapped her arms around Ethan, positioning the box of baked goods in front of him for a moment, “EJ, you look like you need food, thus, I made bagels.” She smiled before moving onto the other boys, hugging each one with warmth and care, “Morning Jack, and yes, I’m still in school, passing with flying colours.” She spoke with a touch of playful annoyance; Jack always pushed her about school. It wasn’t a bad thing, of course she was going to get her degree, like she said, and she was almost a bachelor of science. She stopped in front of Rocco “Sandy probably poisoned that muffin you know. And I’m appalled you didn’t throw it away the moment I came in here with homemade bagels, I’m hurt Mr. Finley, wounded even,” She laughed before attacking him with a hug too.
The girl would have hugged her cousin, but alas, in classic will style, William Tyler was not in the building quite yet. However, she was buzzing with excitement, some may even mistake it for an attention disorder, “Oh my gosh, I almost forgot, I made the coolest thing ever yesterday, well, more like built this MIT guy’s invention because I’m too lazy to wait a week for the prototype… Small details.” She spoke with such speed that she ran out of breath near the end. It was safe to say that Elise was excited. Not reaching levels of over-excitement, which included symptoms such as panic attacks and/or high-pitched speed talk and/or constant screaming, but close. “Anyway so it’s called the sixth sense and it’s awesome.” She was going to go on about the bandwidth and how Mistry, the creator, first took apart mice and placed the sensors on his fingers… In the span of twenty-four hours Elise knew the Sixth Sense and its history better than her own. But with the boys falling silent, she knew her enthusiasm took them by surprise, again. “Oh. I’m nerding out again aren’t I? Sorry… it’s super cool though, it’s basically a computer hitched to your necks, something useful for future tasks, you know?” She quieted rapidly, awkwardly playing with the machine, projecting programs to the wall for something to do. had to burn your kingdom down |

- - - - - - -
---WILLIAM TYLER HAD NEVER BEEN PARTICULARLY PUNCTUAL. the only things he'd ever shower up on time for in his life were his various jobs, and that was only because it was absolutely necessary in order to stay employed. however, everything else, he was usually late. back in high school he was always scrambling to get to class on time and rarely made it. it was such a norm that teachers stopped punishing him because it was simply expected. whenever he and his family went to church, he was always the last one ready. he just wasn't good at being on time, or even knowing what time it was to begin with. at twenty-nine, the guy still lived with his mom, and she was still going out of her way to wake him up at a decent hour. "william!" she grunted, trying to pull his sheets out from under him. he seriously needed to move out and find some other place to live. but it just seemed so pointless since he would spend most of his time here at his mom's house anyway and only go home to sleep and shower. but it was time to cut the umbilical cord. he was sick of not being able to sleep in, "will, aren't you supposed to meet your friends? i'm almost positive elise called and reminded me to make sure you got there in time." yep, he definitely needed to move out. he was literally being treated like a child, although he couldn't find any justification in complaining since he was willing to admit that he did, in fact, act like a child. but he was twenty-nine years old, for god's sake. even if he was living with his mother, its not like he didn't pay for half of everything in the house. heck, he covered all the groceries. why couldn't she just let him sleep? it wasn't like his presence at the meeting was absolutely necessary, and he had a late night. he wasn't ready to get up and go running around. they probably didn't care if he was there for the planning session anyway. william only participated to humor the team really, jack in particular, but deep down the all knew he probably wasn't going to follow through with any of it. he didn't intend to piss off the team, or well, sharpe in particular, by not following through with the plans. but he wasn't good with plans. that;s why he never went to college or got particularly good grades in school. it was why he was still at home and couldn't maintain a serious relationship to save his life.
with a groan, will rolled out of the bed, and overestimating the amount of space he had left, went crashing right onto the floor. well, that ought to wake him up. he heard his mother shut the door with a chuckle, and will mumbled a stream of profanities to himself as he pushed himself back upwards. he sat there for a moment, contemplating whether or not to take a shower. he decided on no, considering he didn't smell and if he didn't want to be too late, he was definitely short on time. with a grunt he stood up and found some clothes that looked halfway clean and pulled them on with just enough attention to make sure they weren't backwards. he decided to give his friends the courtesy of brushing his teeth, but that was the extent of that aside from a little old spice here and there. he went downstairs to see his mom all done up in her nursing outfit, ready to head out for work. apparently his sisters were all already out and about starting off their days. they probably had classes or something. "goodmorning," his mom greeted him cheerfully, taking a sip of her orange juice as she leaned back on the kitchen counter. "mornin'," he retorted groggily, wandering to the fridge and grabbing a carton of milk. he popped it open and brought it to his lips, only to be greeted by a thump on the back of his head. his mom hit him with a rolled up newspapaer. "ow," he muttered, returning the carton of milk and rubbing the back of his head. "don't test me, william," his mother snapped before finishing off her juice and leaving the glass in the sink. she proceeded to grab her purse and move out of the kitchen, ruffling through some papers on the dining room table, "where were you last night?" she asked with mild curiosity. she probably didn't really care, that or she did and was trying very hard not to show it. will grinned to himself, yawning before he replied, "i met a girl." he could almost feel his mother's eyes burning into his soul. she could tell when he was lying easily, but hey, technically he was telling the truth. "oh?" she asked, sounding slightly more intrigued. will shrugged it off like it wasn't that big of a deal, "yeah, yeah," he muttered, grabbing an apple before snatching his car keys up off the counter, "nothing too special though, ma, so don't go fretting over it. i'll see you at dinner, kay?" he walked over to her, towering above her as he put both hands on either side of her shoulders before swooping down to give her a peck on the cheek and headed out to the car.
yeah, he had met a girl last night, and the memory was still prominent within his conscious. the girl's name was ro, and that was all he really knew about her aside from the fact that she was quick and crafty when it came to burgalury. he'd caught her trying to break into rocky's house last night, and due to their incredible size difference and the element of surprise, will was able to catch her red handed and reveal her identity. the whole situation sort of made him think about cat woman, thats exactly what she was, sort of, right? half good, half bad... and all sexy. yes, that sounded about right. his mom probably wouldn't approve of her profession, but she was a cute little thing, absolutely miniscule, but she had spunk, a fire in her that was mesmerizing. he wouldn't deny his interest in her. it wasn't even completely sexual like usual, but he was genuinely interested. although she needed to work on her provactive eye lash batting, because he wasn't quite sold on that. ro. he was still thinking about it when he woke up, and even on the drive to ej's garage. but it wasn't your every day situation, so could anybody really blame him for having it on his mind? as far as he was concerned, no. what was fun was seeing his mom be all interested because he expressed interest in a girl and told her about it. normally he kept his love life a secret and completely denied it when confronted. granted, this didn't exactly constitute as a "love life" but that didn't change the amusement factor of the situation. will pulled in across the street from the garage, parking his truck and hopping out, still recovering from the late night and rude awakening. he yawned again, stretching as he crossed the street and locked his truck. as he entered the autoshop, he could hear all the voices. well that sounded about right, everybody but him was there, and in he sauntered, late as ever. nobody noticed him at first, all of them chatting about some thing or another. will walked by the table where chance was sitting and swiftly pushed him off of it, "morning sandy," he grinned, mocking his little cousin in the process. she was the next one he greeted, giving her a hug and lifting her off the ground in the process, "and thank you very much for setting my mom-made alarm clock little miss perfection," he grumbled before falling back into a chair and grabbing one of the treats elise brought. will looked around the room, smirking to himself. "well, you all look like hell," he chuckled, taking a bite of his food, "except for you, jackson, you're the beautiful one of the group," will winked at him briefly. this was basically his extended family, and he was even more himself around them than his real family because there were no secrets between them. they weren't just a team, or colleagues, they were brothers (and a cousin in elise, who was like a sister, but they were already related so no need for metaphors.) he loved the heist team. ”rocky,” will nodded in finley’s direction, giving him a knowing grin about their previous night before leaning back in the chair with a yawn, ”

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - IT'S JUST ONE OF THOSE DAYS feeling like a freight trainFIRST ONE TO COMPLAIN, LEAVES WITH A BLOODSTAIN- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Eyes shifted from watching the drips of coffee rain down to looking to Jack. He had called it right off the bat and that meant that Kane probably looked awful. Hands tried to straighten the shirt a bit and he offered his buddy a smirk. A nod was all he could muster in answer to both of the questions that Jack had given. Course, he was only going to be the beginning of the entire group coming in in a line. What seemed like a barrage of hell for Kane. He raised his brow as he heard the door over and over again and he of course heard the comments that they said. It was all the same and he figured that he was in for it. He was asking for it. Which was okay, he could take a joke. But, wondering about the woman had him peering upstairs in a wondering fashion as he looked back to Chance with a shrug. It was an excellent question. He figured there was a girl. But, he didn’t usually wake up on the couch in the break room when there was a girl.
It wasn’t long before the coffee was finished and he started lining up some mugs on the counter to be filled. One for himself and then he filled one for Jack. He was the only one that he noticed asked. They might have all asked, but he had nearly tuned out every other word of what they were saying. It was bad. It was a bad morning so far. But, then a door from the apartment above the garage could be heard and heels against the hardwood floor that was up there. There was a girl. A brow was raised as he sipped his coffee. Those bright, well maybe sleepy, blue eyes peered towards the stairs where a leggy blonde started her descend. She was young - which reminded him that he had gone to college clubs last night. Woops. He just prayed that she wouldn’t be clingy. That she wouldn’t want something. Course, a room full of his friends this early in the morning would likely be enough to have her running for the door. Maybe.
She stepped into the breakroom with a doe in the headlights look as she fixed her shirt. It was her walk of shame and apparently there was an audience that she wasn’t expecting. It didn’t take her long to find Kane’s stare as she mouthed ‘the exit?’ Kane stood and contemplated being a gentleman. But, that wasn’t really him. He didn’t walk a girl to the door, he didn’t normally hold doors open - unless he had just washed and waxed the car, he didn’t do any of those next morning things. EJ would have truly preferred that she would have been gone when the night escapades had been done. She was gorgeous and young though. So that was something to brag about. Something that was a ray of sunshine in this awful morning. His hand left the mug of coffee and pointed towards the door. ”Through that door and down the hallway.” A smile curved across his lips with a nod. There wasn’t even a part of him that could come up with a better good-bye than that. This was certainly why he was still single. Like he cared, he wouldn’t ever see this girl again. It was a fun one night. But, a one night that left him feeling like crap in the morning.
Once the door of Kane’s Garage could be heard he looked between the guys and elise. He sipped the coffee a bit more. “Well, Finley - the morning is getting better and better. Maybe in an hour it will be good.” He half smiled and refilled his coffee. It was going down quickly, which who knew if that was a good thing or a bad thing, but it was a fact. “So, did I miss a memo? Are we up to no good soon? Please, tell me we are. I need some adventure.” He pleaded within the words. EJ had been just partying too much, he needed a different thrill. A planned thrill. Some sort of a challenge to make life worth it.

rocky was the second one to arrive after him and he could tell that ej was just as fucked up as he looked. jack nodded in agreement as he flipped to another page. ooo, a sudoku. he fished out a pen from his his pocket and started solving it. no puzzle was too hard for him. he got his coffee as chance entered with muffins. he hadn't eaten yet. since he needed to feed a bird this morning, he was just 'eh' but now that he was sitting and had coffee, food was appealing to him. "thanks," he said and took one out of the box. chance started talking about how his sister was now staying with him. though jack's little sister didn't live with him, he could relate. sometimes they just acted like moms. before any of them could really respond elise made her entrance already making fun of chance. and of course, brought food of her own to one-up him. jack nodded when she said she was still in school. even though he felt like now his degree was absolutely worthless, he wanted to make sure elise stayed in school. money was at all of their disposal, but he didn't want her to quit school because of it. she started talking about computer programs and things like that and while jack was a pretty smart person, that whole realm completely confused him. but she always knew what she was doing.
of course, will was the last one to roll in, of course. "except for you, jackson, you're the beautiful one of the group," jack looked up from the almost-completely puzzle. "you make it so easy for me, will," he said with a cocky smile. right as he filled in the last number, the unmistakeable sound of heels could be heard from the apartment above ej's garage. jack smirked as a blonde emerged from the top of the stairs. it started to feel awkward since no one really said anything and he didn't know about anyone else, but yes, jack was staring. she looked young. probably attended the university. he kind of felt bad for the girl because she clearly hadn't expected to have five other pairs of eyes looking at her. and they all knew what had happened the night before, so there was some more added embarrassment. he turned his attention back to kane when she asked where the exit was. well, she mouthed it, because if she spoke, she probably thought she'd interrupt something. too bad that already happened when she made her appearance at the top of the stairs.
the funniest part of it was kane barely moved. he just told her to head down the hall. well, if she was expecting his number she wasn't getting it. the sound of her heels clicking against the floor continued down the hall and disappeared once she closed the door behind her. "forgot you left her upstairs there, kane?" jack asked and shook his head with a slight smile. he folded the newspaper up and slid it back across the table. he took another drink of his coffee, which tasted like shit. next time, the hungover one was not brewing the coffee. jack's mood changed when ej asked if they were going to be up to no good soon. it had been quite a few months since their last job and the thrill would always start back up again when they got bored. "well, i don't know if any of you noticed," he said leaning his elbows onto the table. "but the valkyrie bank has been looking pretty lonely lately." he looked over at rocky raising an eyebrow and cocking his head to the side. "could be promising."

Post by rocco atticus finley on May 16, 2012 12:14:48 GMT -6
- - - growing up without any brothers rocky never really knew what it was like to be able to rely on someone else really, well unless you counted naya. despite the fact that she was only one year older, she definitely always looked out for rocky even though he never saw it that way. he didn't see her as overbearing or anything, but he was a boy and she was a girl and in rocky's eyes he was the one that should've been taking care of her. as soon as he was old enough to realize this he acted on it. it all started when he was seven or maybe eight that he began to take part in things all among the house, not only to show that he could take care of his mother and sister but also to make his father proud of him. rocky worked off the intention of making his family proud and bringing them a sense of honor so you could say, and it was the reason he'd do everything he did from then on out in his life. by that time is when his father had left the army to come home and be with them, when rocky's need to be the man of the house had decreased by only a little bit, but enough for christian to teach him to be the man he'd always wanted him to be, the man that he knew that rocky would need to be to get through the heavier things in life. like his passing. though christian wasn't there for the earlier parts of rocky's childhood, the blow of his death that not only hit damiana, naya, and rocky's younger sister tea hard, but rocky hard as well.
as the only boy in the family though, he immediately enforced his role as the man of the house and encompassing his name; the rock of the family. by that time rocky had been well out of college, and a strong part of the valkyrie police force until everything had gone downhill and crawford had framed him only two years after christian had been gone. the two years rocky spent in prison was some of the worst time that he'd ever paid. the amount of rage that filled him every day was enough to keep people off his back, well that and his size because he was no small guy either, but even so it was something that he knew he'd never wanted to go back to. the lowest he'd ever felt spending everyday thinking about how disappointed his father would be, maybe despite his true innocence as well, and the only thing worse than that was the look of pain that welled in his mother and sister's faces when they came to see him. he could only imagine the pain they went through back home, everyone in town's perspective of him changing and them being the one to get hit with the repercussions. while he didn't bother burden his mother with the true troubles that he faced, naya and tea had forced him to speak the full story to him, they were at the time the only ones who knew and believed him, but none of that mattered now. no evidence was present and there were no witnesses. law didn't work by word of mouth, and he understood it and did his time, getting let out a month early for good behavior.
during his one year slump after being released from jail he'd found that naya had kept up with his payments on his old apartment for his sake of not having to face damiana every day, and there he went. job searches failed him now because of his blackened record, and instead he drowned himself in a drunken depression that he was only able to surface from after meeting up with his old friends. he was somewhat comforted to know that things hadn't been going as well for them. will had not only spent some time in jail as well, but had been fucked over in the love department but much worse than rocky who's longtime girlfriend and high school sweetheart nina had not only dumped him but left town while rocky was in jail. will however had gotten engaged and then unengaged, and as for jackson he'd been in some deep shit. but the way things turned around still surprised rocky to this day. sure, they didn't have the most honorable career, but after all the jobs they've done, their countless flawless getaways, and everything, how could they say no to that? they were a golden team, with the addition of elise, ej, and chance. everything was perfection.
even now, sitting in kane's garage he smirked a bit as everyone slowly and steadily made their way in, will of course, the premadonna he was strolling in last and of course like he owned the place. with a slight snort, as he finished up his last bite of one of the muffins that chance had brought in before heading for the bagels that elise brought. rocky admired her, despite being surrounded by all these men she kept up and held her own, "sanders the fact that you can recognize potpourri worries me a little," with a shake of his head as he listened to sanders recount about his sister's girl decay of his apartment. as for elise, he listened to her as she went along and talked about something that she created that sounded all nerdy as usual. he loved the girl but when she began to talk all technological he could only keep up for so long before his mind drifted to food, the insane dream of some famous woman practically naked in his bed waiting for him when he got home, or the score of the game that had been on today. he drifted in and out. when she asked if he was nerding, he was the first one to begin nodding, but she continued on anyways, and for this rocky sent a look on over as will had finally strolled in. about damn time.
he faintly listened as he greeted each person throughout the room, and laughed as he told jackson he was the beautiful one of the group, "it's whatever will, i thought what we had was real, but it's cool," the sarcasm in his voice was laced with humor as will nodded in his direction and they both shared a smirk over the night before and their findings, "you have a nice night with your thief, william?" poking fun rocky threw a small piece of his bagel at will's face, it landing in his mouth as he yawned. ten points/. next up it was kane who'd spoke loud enough so that everyone would know his words were directed towards all of them and he brought up the question of their next heist, "yup, it's about that time," rocky's voice boomed loudly as he clapped his hands together with a smirk, the last bit of bagel tucked in his cheek. jackson spoke of the valkyrie bank, and it was only know that the idea seemed to settle well in rocky's stomach. the nerves he'd once encountered by the mere thought of taking on their hometown bank had dispersed. there was something frightening about the idea of the valkyrie bank, the short getaway left so much risk of them being followed. less time to trick off whoever was on their tail with different routes, but with their experience and the amount of confidence they'd all began to gain, it seemed that now was the time, "it's about that time fellas," he spoke before turning his head to elise, "and elise." hopping off of the edge of the table he sat on, he stood up and took a few steps, "i'm feeling good about taking a local, so i'm thinking we go big, and valkyrie bank is looking like our next goal." there was a hint of conniving smirk behind his face. they'd all come pretty far not only as a team but as a family, and for this he believed they were ready. ______________________________
this post right here is dedicated to the heist teamm c: and is an astounding amount of 1357 words. in my own words i'd like to say that they're awesome, and i love it.. well anyways, all dude-ish in that outfit in the banner, everything in this layout was made by yours truly. currently listening to the tv but i'm not really paying attention. lyrics in the graphic above are from the song can't tell me nothing by kanye west. that's all for now. ta ta!
