DARKEST BEFORE DAWN - THE BLACKOUT
hey vsiders! even though the bank robbery is still in progress doesn't mean we can't gear up for our next site event. the next event is a definite game-changer for the citizens (illegal or not) of valkyrie. the war on organized crime and criminal activities have plagued news reports and newspaper articles for the last several months. after mayor birch was arrested recently for his involvement with the italian mafia, the political system in valkyrie can be just as corrupt as the criminals trying to destroy it.
as a way to reassure the citizens of valkyrie, the new mayor is hosting a political rally in front of the courthouse at eight pm and everyone is invited. everyone important to the political system of valkyrie will be there, and to some criminal groups, they see all their targets in one convenient spot. speeches are given by valkyrie's police commissioner, city council president, the district attorney, and of course, the mayor. at eight thirty pm during the middle of mayor dillon's passionate speech of his personal commitment in controlling valkyrie's crime problem - all the lights in the city go out. a planned blackout that only the most intelligent and talented of criminals could pull off. with the city in darkness, there is no electricity, security systems are deactivated, and only the citizens can protect their own. people at the rally are in confusion and masked men reveal themselves and start shooting the people only on the stage aka the public figures of valkyrie. three end up dead. the police commissioner, the city council president, and the mayor's personal assistant. mayor dillon and da brian goodwin, end up injured.
what will happen to valkyrie when they are in complete darkness for two days?
so, basically, this event is big and there are numerous plotting opportunities that stem from this. all characters from different member groups would be affected by this in some way, so no worries if you're having trouble finding a way to fit your character in. also, this will be run a lot like how we did the explosion event. therefore, we'll make a board for this event and you can create your own threads with the people you are plotting with. so, it won't be one big long thread because too much stuff is happening with this event at different times.
since it would be impossible for one lone criminal to pull this off, the criminal group behind this hit is the russian bratva!
so start planning and plotting how you want to be involved with this. the rally is also open to be threaded if people wanted to thread their characters in that. basic bullet points for when the shootings happen can be found above and below. and chaos will be going on all around the city so no place would be restricted. definitely have a lot of fun with this. below you can find brief details about the victims of the rally shooting.

- ties to the italians, as they pay him off for turning a blind eye to the properties in valkyrie, and gives them heads-up in things going down
- second to give a speech and talked about raising funds to rebuild the city from the damages sustained from the january 2012 earthquake and china wok bombing.
- fourth one shot in the head, died immediately
- former assistant to mayor birch
- though she might be seen as an innocent woman, she is still feeding information to the italian mafia like she did when she was employed under mayor birch.
- second person shot int he chest, third to die on scene.
