joining and registration if you want to join us, please register and change your username to your character's first middle and last name, all in lower case. we have two options for an application. we have a more guided application, and we also have a freestyle application. choose one and fill it out. please log into all your accounts every day. the minimum word count for threads is 500. we understand that this is not always possible but main threads should have 500 words. try to match your posting partner but don't strain yourself. valkyrie is currently in the year 2012. characters and graphics you are not limited to the number of characters you have as long as you can keep each one active and involved on the site. this is a crime-world rp in a city setting. the youngest your character can be is eighteen. avatars can be up to 165x250. resize your images before bringing them to the site. click here for a great website that makes it easy to crop and resize images, especially useful for gifs. signatures may not exceed 500 pixels in width and may not contain inappropriate content such as nudity. cover up the private bits. play bys and claiming you are allowed 2 weeks for play by reservations which is usually more than plenty. reclaim if you run out of time to keep the reservation. we suggest that play bys not be myspacers, scenesters, etc. we won't tell you not to use them, but it will be hard for you to plot when using them. your best bets will always be actors and actresses, models, singers, dancers, etc. if you haven't been active in over a month, the face will be back up for grabs. unless, you told us you'd be gone. crime stuff though we are a crime-based site the proboards rules and regulations must be followed. this means no graphic sex, drug use, or violence. you don't need to get into gruesome details. this doesn't mean you can't rp these out, but just think of what you're typing. we have a wide variety of canon characters available with a wide range of possibilities. we ask that you at least take a look at those and see if one of your own characters can fit into one of those slots. that said, we also accept original characters should you not find any open slots to your liking. originals must be realistic. originals can be associated with pre-made characters. that's the point of plotting. similarly, independent criminals can have friends and allies within other crime syndicates without actually being aligned with the crime family. if you have any questions about the crime aspect and how it all works, pm an admin or hit up the chat box. we're happy to help you gain a better footing on the site and we like those who want to talk to us. we will help you through anything if you just ask. out of character we've been drama-free since 2006 and we'd like to keep it that way. so, no fighting and no bitching. the point of rping is to have fun and that's why we're here and we've dedicated years of our lives to making sure this site survives. so have fun and enjoy what your doing.
