[/b] banner and format to me, lyrics to coldplayShe hoisted up her jeans, jumping around her bed room. her suitcase laying open on the unmade bed and her clothes tossed all over the room, honestly it felt like she was sixteen again, except when she came home her room wouldn’t be spotless because bailey no longer lived with the luxury of hired help. buttoning up her jeans as she rushed for the door, pulling on her boots almost tripping over her laces in her frantic hurry to leave the house, bailey didn’t even look at herself in the mirror. reaching for the keys to paisley’s (or gale’s she honestly didn’t know) car she yanked open the front door and raced for the car in the drive way. halting suddenly when she saw her reflection in the car window. ”damnit!” throwing her hands over her chest, the petite blonde ran back inside to her bedroom throwing on the nearest jumper she could find. fuck she would of looked great rocking up to the hospital in nothing but jeans and a bra ‘oh hey timothy suresh long time no see, i was in such a rush to get to you i forgot a t-shirt and decided to leave my dignity at home.’ she let out a frustrated sigh and opened the car door sliding into the driver’s seat. as soon as paisley had mentioned to her that tim was in hospital, bailey had jumped off her cousins bed and started freaking out like a mad woman, which would of been a hilarious sight for her bemused cousin who watched her run around their townhouse like a nut but to bailey this was serious business. grabbing the cosco blueberry muffins out of the pantry and demanding her cousin put them in the car otherwise everything would be ruined.
What was she a seventeen year old girl again, muffins bailey really? she didn’t even know the extent of his injuries he could be in a coma or worse a spinal injury. people had died in the quake they’d said on the news people had been seriously injured, he could have been one of them. but no, she could almost forget a top but not the muffins. she chewed her bottom lip nervously as she headed towards the hospital wondering why nobody had told her that he was in hospital, of course the rational part of her brain didn't register the fact that the two of them hadn't spoken in nearly five years and that bailey shouldn't be freaking out this much about him being in the hospital it was the irrational overly emotional bailey in action right now, the one thinking ‘oh my god he could be nearly dead.’ and speeding like a maniac and nearly turning on two wheels into the hospital parking lot and prioritizing muffins over being fully dressed. that being said, they where blueberry muffins and they were his favorite. oh god she’s going to look back on the last fifteen minutes and want to smack herself in the face due to her her own pathetic-ness.
Of course confusion set in as soon as she walked through the doors and a flood of memories came rushing back. the car accident her first week in valkyrie, sitting in the emergency room with her mother and caleb. they had been arguing, her mother adamant that is was a bad idea that they had moved here. she was probably right, this was back when her mother actually had sense and not just botox for brains. then the other accident, after her seventeenth birthday, she woke up laying in a bed with all these machines around her, her mother by her side again. she’d been in a medically induced coma for forty-eight hours and anne, wow that’s when things really started falling apart. the third and last time she was at this hospital, jenny. a lump formed in her throat and she glanced around the waiting room her eyes falling on the triage clerk. bailey glanced down at the muffins in her hand and walked over giving the woman a small smile. ”good morning!” she chimed in a sing-song voice plastering a hopeful smile on her face as she waited for the woman to notice her. she was typing away on her computer, glasses perched on the end of her nose seemingly not noticing bailey’s existence at the counter. great, the ignorant admin type. bailey hated dealing with these type of women. second try, ”hi...” and again, this time the woman looked up an un-amused expression on her face as she looked bailey up and down ”...yeah can you help me, i’m trying to find someone.”
“well blondie we got plenty of someone’s here, i’m gonna need a name.”
Blondie? bailey bit back a scoff and instead let out a small polite laugh. ”the surname is suresh and...” the clerk let out a laugh and shot bailey an amused look, raising an overly plucked eyebrow at the now extremely confused ballerina. ”oh honey, if you want to see doctor suresh you’ll have to call his secretary. he don’t see just common folk off the street.” common folk? now hold the fuck up. bailey stared at her, affronted and leaned forward placing both hands on the counter, carefully placing her muffins down as well. ”common folk? really now, and i’m not looking for doctor suresh. if i wanted to i’d just go to his house, you see old family friends. uh –huh i’m that kind of important person the kind that could get your fired.” oh damn and she still had some of that elitist bitch left in her didn’t she, new york didn’t mellow her out at all. well at least it didn’t completely murder the old bailey. ”now let’s try this again, surname suresh first name timothy.” the woman nodded and of course, bailey triumphed and was now rushing like a mad woman towards the hdu dodging the elderly and wheel chair bound freaking the fuck out because ‘hd’ means high dependency in the hospital and not high definition. tapping her foot impatiently in the lift, bailey glanced up at the little glowing numbers, each dinging as they reached that floor. why was it stopping at everyone stop? this never happened any other time only now when she so desperately needed to get to tim and give him these stupid muffins and tell him she was sorry that she didn’t come sooner and that she was a horrible friend. Great she freaking herself out that much that her eyes started leaking emotion. Damn, damn, damn she hated crying.
She rushed out of the lift wiping tears from her eyes, cursing herself and stomping her foot in frustration at her tears. of course always the one to try and hide any emotion once they were out with bailey that’s when she couldn’t contain it. it was always the way with her, hide your emotions and what you are feeling, but as soon as bailey slipped up it all came spilling out. that’s why alcohol had helped so much back in her angst filled teen days. spotting his room number, bailey didn’t even bother knocking on the closed door and burst in, all watery eyed with muffins in hand ”fucking hell tim i’m so sorry, i only just heard and...” she sniffled and looked at him laying in the bed, eating chips and looking like...well he looked fine to her. ”you’re eating chips, what the hell? i thought you were almost dead” narrowing her eyes at him, she threw the muffins down on the bed in front of him and fell into a chair at his bed side and folded her arms, well now she felt like a complete idiot. wow, bailey felt like she would of been better off rocking up casually in just her bra then making an idiot of herself this way. but with tim though, things never went normally for these two. come on, their thing is ‘muffins’ that is not the foundation to a normal relationship at all.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
