- - - her fingers moved the stick shift into park, and the low hum of the silver camaro came to a halt. it'd been a while since she'd decided to go on a 'trip' into one of the houses in this neighborhood. the goal was a house in the gated community just around the corner. currently, ro was parked in the driveway of a model home that she'd been shown when she was looking to move into a bigger place. with another flick of her finger, the headlights of her car went off and the silver camaro faded into the neighborhood setting as if it'd belonged there all along. taking a short breath in for a moment, her arm reached into the back seat, and took hold of the small black duffle bag that housed the rest of her disguise for the night. already partially meshed in with the black seats of the interior, her fingers grabbed to slide on the long pair of black socks to disguise and cushion her thin black dance slippers. she smirked a bit at her get up as she reached for the black underarmour football gloves and clapped her hands together to make sure that the sticky adhesive was still present against the fabric. taking a moment to close her eyes and relax from the adrenaline that she normally encountered before she broke into houses like these, she smiled at the fact that this could've easily been her hundredth break-in by now and she'd never even left a trace. that feeling of getting away with metaphorical murder seeped into her blood stream again as she pulled her hair into a ponytail and began to yank on the snug face mask that covered everything but her eyes, and nostrils. securing it to her face, her hands next grabbed at the belt that was the solitary item in the bag at this time. with different compartments in it, ro smirked as every time she would secure it to her waist she felt like she was a super villain or something. dropping her eyes into the allotted compartment on the belt, she took one last moment in the car to look around and make sure that no one was coming. and her eyes cast on the darkened street, all lights off in every house but one that was far off; all systems are go.
opening the door slowly and quietly, she slipped out and closed it behind her before hurrying to the side of the model home. the backyard was of course pit black but just behind this house was the entrance to the gated community that ro needed to get into. hurrying into the backyard an around some unused children's play sets put in the backyard to display the 'perfect family home'. rolling her eyes, ro found the tall wall of the community way in the back of the 1 acre backyard, and felt her hand along it as she moved more away from where she knew the security booth would be. once she was about two houses down, through the underarmour gloves she could feel where the ivy was growing on the wall. grabbing a handful and tugging it tight to make sure it was stable, she placed both hands against it, brought her feet against the bricks and began to climb the ten feet to the top, only stopping to peek her head over the edge first. gladly for her she was in the clear, the security booth was a long ways away, and the attendant was even sleeping. nice
getting over the wall, ro's feet touched the grass with grace before taking off through the backyards, and then taking her chance to walk across the street to her destination. 15 voran place, home of rocky finley, and the home of the vintage rolex that she planned to pawn off for part of her rent money this month as well as some other things she could find. mostly just a scope out this time. taking one more look around the neighborhood, ro's feet took her to the side of his home. looking up to the side of the building, just as she predicted, the upstairs bedroom window was open, and conveniently those wooden crocheted bullshits that ro never understood, or knew what purpose they served except for her to climb up and rob people's houses with. shrugging to herself, ro put a foot up on it and grabbed a hold of it, but fell backwards as she found that it wasn't as sturdy as she thought it was. sighing a little frustrated, ro lifted herself up off the grass and fixed the stupid white wooden crap, "stupid piece of shit..." she mumbled quietly, before looking around and then deciding to head towards the backyard and to the porch. her eyes scanning the vast backyard, before her eyes fell upon the back door, a sliding door, and by far the easiest to break into. smirking to herself, she walked up the door pulling out the small tools from a compartment on her belt.
this all got too easy to her after only a small amount of her robberies or thieving acts in town. she was good at covering her tracks too, it's how she's gotten away with half the shit that she has. she only got into it to support herself after she dropped out of college, she needed it. marie's paychecks at the studio weren't cutting it at the time. real estate was expensive, and after typically watching a tv show in which a burglar was breaking into a house, she got the idea. valkyrie was full of criminals, and even locals with money. you just needed to know who had what. there was something about the adrenaline that she got from it at only nineteen, but she almost fucked up that night. she made a huge flaw in leaving one of the doors open, and not wearing the proper things to conceal herself. big mistake. she never fucked up after that, even when the house or place she was intruding on had people coming into it, she always made out clean. she'd even robbed a house while people were in there, very much awake as well. that was probably her best robbery yet.
the lift of the lock took a little muscle but the door slid open, and almost immediately a large husky ran up to her barking loudly. closing the door behind her, and locking it, ro chuckled as she was finally able to use her secret weapon. reaching into yet another one of the compartments, ro's fingers pulled out a milkbone, the same dog snacks that her own dog dorian liked. after one robbery where she almost got attacked by a german shepherd, she learned to bring something just in case there was a 'guard dog'. bending down her fingers slipped the treat into the dogs mouth, and began to pet his head, placing a small kiss on his forehead before continuing on through the house, pulling the small flashlight from her belt, she navigated her way to the stairs and went up to both the study and the master bedroom. in the study, there was a small golden trinket on the desk that caught her eye. a paper weight that judging by the fact that it had no scratches on it, and had two small emeralds for eyes, she figured the whole thing was probably gold as well. opening the yet another compartment on her belt she pulled out a small folded string backpack, and slipped the trinket inside, before hoisting it on her back her eyes went around the room and over to the bookshelf just for shits. her eyes deeply scanned the titles of the books on the shelf before stopping abruptly on 'the great gatsby', pulling it from the shelf and opening it. a first edition. chuckling and shaking her head ro ran her fingers over it. it was in great condition, and she couldn't help but wonder how the fuck rocky finley came across a first edition copy of 'the great gatsby'. maybe the same way she was right now. smirking, she opened the backpack again and slipped the book inside. her fingers moved to rearrange the books to make it look as if nothing was missing again before leaving the study.
making her way to the master bedroom, she noticed that now, the dog was following her. stopping for a moment, she bent down and softly took hold of the tag on the collar, "jupiter, huh? that's cute," smirking she pet the dog for only a moment more before heading into the master bedroom. on the dressed was three boxes, in the two other ones was another rolex and an audemaur. scrunching her face, ro went for the third box, and there it was. the vintage 1965 rolex, "hello, beautiful," she spoke softly as she admired the watch, but a small flash caught her eye. whipping head around she moved quickly to the front facing window to see the all black '68 camaro coming to a slow halt in front of the house, "shit," she murmured to herself, and quickly closed the box of the watch and slipped it into her backpack, before making her way downstairs. at the sound of rocky's voice outside, jupitar began to bark as he followed ro down the stairs of the house. she could see finley approaching the door outside and quickly she looked around the dining room before her. finding a window that faced the side of the house, she hurried over, her fingers quickly unlocking it, as she slid out and onto the grass. closing the window behind her, ro was quickly grabbed by a strong hand. as a reaction her first whipped across her attackers face giving a chance for her to turn and look at them.
surprised a bit, ro's eyes landed on a tall, blonde man who stared back at her for a moment just as she was at him. he was huge, and for the first time, ro was a bit nervous about her escape plan. her identity was fine as long as she could get away. moving to turn to the backyard and run she was quickly grabbed by him, around the neck and around the waist choking her. grabbing her wrist ro thrusted her elbow into his stomach, and then back up against his chin, but this guy wouldn't budge. letting out a small sound of frustration, ro lunged herself at him but instead of catching him off guard, he was expecting it and grabbed her flipping them and bashing her against the ground and sitting on her hips and now is when her palms began to sweat. grabbing her hands and pinning them against the ground she was stuck and her breath began to come out in pants against her face mask. she watched as he smirked at how easy it was to get her, or at least that's what she thought.
once more her eyes caught on to his and stuck. for only a moment before she raised her hips, and bending her knees she slid out from underneath him, but his fingers caught against the mask on her face and within only a second she could feel the cold night air against her face and her hair falling against her shoulders. as she watched him whip around, he saw her. her mask was gone. this was a nightmare. at a loss for words, ro stood there her mouth slightly ajar and trying desperately to catch her breath. running a hand through her waves she sighed, placing a hand on her hip.
"uhm......hey..."

- - - - - - -
---LIFE HAD BEEN PRETTY DULL THE PAST FEW WEEKS. the guys were planning the next big heist they were going to pull, and the planning stage usually involved everybody except william tyler. it wasn't that he was the odd man out or anything, but when it came to following the guidelines, he was never very good at keeping up. but hey, he got the job done, and he got the money. nothing bad ever happened because of him, so nobody had any standing to complain. and hell, he looked over the plan. jack ran through it with him on various occasions, probably because it pissed him off when will strayed from it, but it wasn't will's fault if he "forgot." they were pretty intricate, and he had never been very good at studying in school, so why would it be any different these days in the real world? as far as he was concerned, he was there to be the muscle. that was what he was good at, being big and intimidating, and nobody ever got the upper hand on him, so he did it just fine. so if anybody had an issue with william not sitting in on the planning meetings, they could go to hell. okay, that was harsh. but he didn't plan anything, he was just told the plan. sometimes he managed to fit in a decent idea or something, but he wasn't jack. it was jack's job to hammer out the kinks. it was elise's job to figure out the security systems. it was ej's job to figure out the best driving routes. and then finley was simply in charge of the entire operation. they all had it covered, so will was just going to knock some clowns out and that was that. he had faith they’d think of something good and all this stationary waiting would be put on hold for a bit as they went to scout it out. not having a job right away was kind of nice, though. gave a guy time to think, time to get a drink with his friends, catch up with the family, and meet beautiful women. so while the past few weeks may have been bland, there were good things about them, so he really couldn't complain. not to mention he was well off with his money, he was happy. there wasn't much to complain about. complaining would feel selfish really. a few years back he had perfect leverage to complain, but now he was set. he was good. apparently karma was finally rewarding him, and it was a nice feeling too. so no, will wasn't going to complain about his life, he was going to enjoy it.
the day had gone by fairly quickly. his sister met him for lunch; she drove in from her dorms at ucla. he loved cassidy, the girl had spunk, and yet she was the most selfless person he knew. but then again, he adored all of his sisters so that wasn't particularly shocking, but he and cassidy had been the ones to get close the past few years, maybe because shayleigh was in new york and she had always been will's right hand woman. in some ways she still was, after all, she was the one person in his family aside from elise who knew about his real occupation. although she didn't approve, but she didn't treat him any differently, she just didn't ask, she never wanted to know. that was why it was nice to have elise in the group, at least he could talk to her about it all, and she was like a sister, and she was hiding the same secret from her entire family. but so were all the guys on the team. they were like brothers in arms. which was why he'd met up with finley later that day. they'd gone out to watch the game, and will now owed finley twenty bucks for losing a stupid bet on which team would win or lose. and so they were headed back to finley's house, mostly for some grub. will hadn't felt like buying anything, maybe they'd invite the other guys over, maybe they'd leave as soon as they got there. will didn't know, he didn't really care. he was going with the flow of the night.
the heist team was a funny thing. he'd known finley and sharpe since they were kids. they'd grown up together, played in the streets together, studied together, played sports together. their families all knew each other, will was always sweet talking their moms. they had had the ultimate bromance during their youth. and when each of them graduated, they followed their own paths. will was the only one to not really pursue a career. he had to help his stubborn mother take care of his little sisters. he practically raised them all, knowing she couldn't do it alone. he even spend some time in jail when he was twenty, but luckily his grandparents managed to get him out on bail. rich grandpa perk. but there was a long period of time when he rarely saw his childhood friends. sure, maybe they met up every once and a while, but they had all taken their own paths, lived their own lives. yet, by some god forsaken miracle they all wound up back in the same place, broke and screwed. will had gotten into a lot of debt with some loan sharks. he couldn't help his gambling addiction, it was a huge problem. it still was today, but at least no he had the money to back himself up in times of need. back then he'd been dirt poor, wasting his money away. when he couldn't pay them back, he suffered some severe beatings from his debt collectors. enough was enough, which was why he had proposed the heist team in the first place. of course he'd been half joking, but he was half serious too, and he was gun-ho when finley approached him. they'd been pretty well off ever since, and he was glad to have his good friend back in his life, people he could trust after all the time he had been burned. the sharks backed off because he was able to throw them the bloodied meat they had craved so desperately, and it was like he was a free man again. the best part was how good they were. nobody blinked twice in their direction with suspicion. of course his family wondered where all the cash was coming from, but he was a gambler, and they figured he'd finally gotten a grip on his luck and wasn't about to let go. in a way that was true, he was lucky, but the hundred dollar bills bunched up in his pockets weren't coming from the black jack table.
will figured he deserved the luck though. after all he'd been through in life? after raising such rad sisters by his mother's side? after dealing with that asshole of a father who abandoned them the first chance he got? yeah, he deserved his luck. and then there was always the case of lauren jamison. that had been a serious fit of bad luck, and the last girl he'd truly dated. hell with dating, they had been engaged, and she was something of a sore subject. that woman had black blood flowing through her ice encrusted veins. she wasn't a good person. which was exactly why when he and finley had been out, he flirted with the blonde bartender without any real interest. they woman was beautiful, friendly. she was perfect for a nice dinner date, maybe a one night stand, and then could part ways as unlikely friends. however, there was no way william tyler was going to put himself through what lauren had done ever again. the modelesque blonde took a war hammer to his heart. the first woman to ever win his heart broke it as well. just a month before the wedding he had caught her sleeping with a friend of his from work. and that ladies and gentlemen is why he was glad to have the team at his back now. he knew the boys would never go after one of his girls, had he ever decided to take another woman. lauren hurt him for a long time, even increased his gambling problem as a weak distraction. but that was all a few years back now, and he wasn't hurt over it anymore. he didn't love lauren anymore. as far as he was concerned, it was a lesson well learned, and a mistake he would never make again.
he grinned as he drove down the road in his black ford f-150. he loved his truck, it was his baby and he treated it as such, not to mention it was one of the only vehicles he felt like he could drive comfortably. the blonde's number rustled around in the pocket of his jeans, what was her name? valerie. yes, that sounded right. he'd give valerie a call in a few days, set up a date. overall the day felt pretty successful, and he was ready to wind down with a drink and a nice opening season baseball game, or whatever else was on. he didn't care. in fact, he was feeling sort of beat. maybe he would just give rocky his money and head home. in fact, that plan sounded pretty good. he turned around the bend, following close behind rocky down the road to his house. will parked on the opposite side of the street, checking his phone once before shoving it in his pocket and locket his car door. he wandered across the street yawning, but that was when he noticed the window opening on the side of rocky's house. will glanced over to the front door and saw finley was opening it, about to go in. so obviously he wasn't the one crawling out of his own window, although that seemed unlikely in the first place. will quietly strode over to the side of the house, his eyebrows knitting together with confusion. this black garbed figure must have been a thief. quick little thing, eh? will waited until she shut the window, obviously thinking she was in the clear before making a move to grab her hand. before he knew it he was being hit across the face, "ouch!" he yelled more out of surprise than anything else. he met the eyes, feminine eyes, of the thief for a brief moment. she tried to make a run for it, but he grabbed her before she could escape, one of his arms latching around her waist as the other went for her neck, trying to immobilize the little person. she fought against his grip, and he smiled tightly, refusing to let her get away. she tried a new approach and threw herself at him like a tiny rag doll, so he pushed her into the ground and managed to pin her with ease, "gotcha," he grunted with a smirk before she tried sliding away. she was agile, he would give her that. the girl knew exactly what she was doing. almost like it was instinct, will grabbed at the mask hiding her identity, although he was sure he could recognize those eyes anywhere, and off it slipped from her face.
he looked at the mask in his hands, then back at the girl standing before him. she looked shocked, like this entire scenario had been completely unfathomable to her. she seemed tired too. maybe in another circumstance she would have had a better chance. the girl was light on her feet, that was for sure, but he had caught her by surprise, and his brawniness obviously overpowered her agility. she gave him an awkward greeting looking worn out, and will just stared at her expectantly, a look of you've got to be kidding me plastered across his face. she was a pretty little thing, but the casual way she said 'hey' was amusing. "hey," will retorted gruffly before taking a quick step forward, grabbing her by the arm tightly in case she had any ideas of running off, "you mind telling me what you're doing trying to break into my buddy's house?" he looked down at her, meeting her eyes confidently. he wasn't really sure what to do in this situation, but at this point he wasn't going to call the police. one criminal to another, call it a gift. but that didn't mean he wasn't going to try and scare her a bit.

Post by ro ahna shohk on Apr 16, 2012 18:05:19 GMT -6
- - - never had she ever been caught. especially not this red-handedly. it was hard for her to even really describe what was going through her head at the moment. it's not as if she was completely found out. this bust doesn't mean that they know she'd done all the other ones which is good but her pride was shaken...or judging from the size of the man in front of her it was probably broken by now. what did she do now? was he gonna turn her in? jail was no place for ro, she would probably sit like a statue and just wait for the time when she could get the hell out of there. by this time the light inside the house was on, but she was sure finley had no idea what was going on. instead, her eyes stayed locked on the man in front of her just looking at her back and waiting for something to happen. this was around the time now when ro wished she could've picked another line of work to be involved in. burglaries and thieving? really, sure it was good for the mean time when she wasn't teaching at the studio, but how long did she really think she was gonna be able to play off this whole thing? she had to have been caught at some point right? she had no other choice than to figure that now was the time. if handsome over here decided to call the cops she was done for with the watchbox, book, and golden paper weight in her bag. completely red handed.
so what would she do now? she was cornered pretty much, especially with this guy in front of her. she was sure that just by looking at him she'd lose or die in a fight against him. his shoulders were broad and lean and house his arms, ones that couldno doubt encase and crush her like an insect if he wanted to. adjacent to those arms was the rest of his brawney and very well muscled body, if this were any other circumstance ro would definitely be thinking of him in a manner that would be considered wildly inappropriate but right now he was simply a block in her escape route. and it was only now that she realized how heavy her breathing was against the crisp and chilly night air. this was embarrassing. every one of her robberies always went off without a hitch, and now she had this. she knew not anything else at this moment that had seemed more appropriate than to chuckle. resting her hands of her slender hips, she laughed at her position right now and threw her head back to the night sky for a moment, she heard him greet her back, but before she could even think about in the hell she was attempting to start conversation her arm was grabbed tightly around her bicep. she lowered her head to look from the tight large hand on her arm before trailing up to the bright electric blues that had no problem meeting her own different colored ones. he asked her why she was breaking into finley's house. really, dude?
"well judging by my all-black attire and mask, i wasn't just in there to play with his dog now was i?" ro's retort came with a raised eyebrow as if telling him 'c'mon, you know exactly what was going on'. she knew of him, she'd known that he would recognize a crime when he saw one. jerking her arm a bit she looked at him, "could you loosen up a bit? i would like to have an arm after this," she spoke up at him. God, he was so tall she must've looked like a little girl to him. sighing a bit, ro knew that she wasn't getting away and so with her free arm she slid off the sling backpack with the watch box, book and paper weight within it with a slight roll of her eyes, "here, take your stuff" she told him tiredly. she was over this, at this point she was just hoping that he would either call the cops already or just let her go so she could go home to her dog. the only thing that was worth it was the watch which she slipped into one of the pockets on her belt when she was coming down the stairs. hey, she had to get something right?
placing her free hand back on her hip she looked back up to his piercing blue eyes with an odd mix of challenge and seduction just to see where he'd take things. with his hand practically glued to her arm she was pretty stuck. there was only one more card she had left to play: manipulation, "so you gonna turn me in or what?" she asked, her eyes staying comfortably perched on his own. raising an eyebrow at him she waited for a response from him she allowed her eyes to move from hiw own, scanning his face and the scruff that inhabited his chin, and part of his neck and lower to the strong area around his collarbone before trailing her eyes back up to his, looking at him lowly. she hated this, the manipulation card was always the last one because it wasn't her cup of tea. it always made her feel gross and whore-y. ew. "so...yes? no?" she spoke, her free hand laying softly against his chest, she was a little surprised at how hard and toned his chest was but she made sure not to show any of the affects that it was having on the girlier side of her.
"will! i think someone's been in the house!" ro's eyes moved to the window as finley's loud voice could be heard trying to reach out to will. his late realization broke ro's seduction technique and her mouth opened slightly to laugh a bit, "you'd think with you guys being such slick criminals that he'd have figured that out a little earlier, no?" she spoke, removing her hand from his strong chest before turning to him once more, "so what's it gonna be, champ?" her eyes shifted back to those blues once more. not in a million years did she think that she'd be trying to coerce her capturer into letting her go. desperate times...
