Working with kids meant you had to not only treat them but comfort them before they unintentionally caused themselves more damage. "D-Daniel.." The boy managed to whimper.---The loud speaker crackled to life, spitting out a message while the young doctor lounged on a couch, beginning to doze off. "Doctor Wright, you are needed in Room 402. Doctor Wright, you are needed in Room 402." He groaned and hauled himself to a standing position. He may have been a guy who was married to his job at one point, but one easily got sick and tired of dealing with blood and gore. The poor boy was exhausted, but he jogged to the room as he was told. Intelligent eyes flitted about, taking in the scene playing out before him.
---There was a young boy, probably no older than twelve, sobbing and clutching his stomach. Despite his exhaustion, the man jumped to action like the professional that he was. "You'll be okay, kid. What's your name?"
---Slowly, he nodded. "Okay, do you have any pets, Daniel?" He queried, gently pulling the boy's arms away from his stomach. The boy remained silent for several moments, content to watch the doctor poke and prod his stomach. Slowly, he nodded. "A dog..named Luca." He murmured quietly.
---A brief pause as he pulled out his stethoscope. "I see. Well, I have a dog and her name is Rogue." He offered the boy a comforting smile before allowing silence to reign for several, long moments. "Now..this may seem weird..but have you gone poop lately or eaten anything that upset your stomach?" He watched as the boy frowned and shook his head at the first part of the question then nodded at the second part of the question. A quiet chuckle left the older male.
---Slowly, he turned to the nurse who stood a foot or so away. "One, I need to see his parents. Two, you know the drill. I'll be back soon, Daniel." He murmured, walking briskly out of the room. A bullet had been avoided, and he was grateful it was only a case of constipation. Dark eyes closed as he leaned momentarily against the wall.
--He needed a nap. Sleep. Anything really. He'd been on his shift for almost twenty-four hours because at the moment, they were rather low on staff and there seemed to always be a surplus of patients at the worst time. Finally, he forced himself to move to the waiting room to converse with the parents. "He'll be fine, but he does have constipation which is basically a problem with Daniel being unable to produce a bowel movement for whatever reason that may be." He watched the expression of the boy's parents morph from worry to that of relief.
---Before the poor fellow knew what was happening, the mother was hugging him as tightly as her tiny frame could allow. Down boy.. He willed his manhood silently as it about jumped in response to the mother's hug. He hadn't bedded a girl since high school, and he wasn't planning on doing it again. "We're just doing a quick check up then we'll discharge him." He stated as calmly as he possibly could, continuing to will his manhood to stay calm and limp.
